Studio experience

The Amy Cope Photography studio is purpose built in Amy's home. It has everything needed to photograph pregnancy, newborns, babies, toddlers and families. It has a kitchenette for you to make yourself a drink so you can sit back and relax while Amy and her assistant photograph your baby/family.

Below is all the information about booking your session, through to product collection.

Booking your Session

Amy Cope's studio is open Monday to Friday 9am-3pm. If you would like your family photographed but your children are school age we often recommend taking them out of school for the day which makes it all the more exciting for them and often gets them more enthusiastic to get involved in the session. If school hours don't work for your family we do often have a few spaces available in the school holidays.
To book in your session please fill in the enquiry form and our studio manager will be in touch soon to talk through how the session works and look at a time for your session.

Before your Session

After booking your session you will receive an email with all the information you need to know for preparing for your session, what to wear, hair, makeup etc, and of course the address of the studio. We understand that a lot of thought and time goes into getting ready for your session, especially with young children. If you are unsure of what clothing to wear then please feel free to bring a few options along and we can decide together what would go nicely. If you have a newborn and don't have time to get ready before your session, consider doing your makeup/hair at the studio as there will be time while we are looking after baby for you to do that. And even if you are not feeling your best (we know what it's like as we also have children) we promise to use angles that will flatter and the focus is very often on the baby/children.

Your Session

We try to make the session as relaxed as possible, for both the baby/children and the parents. We have tea and coffee available, and toys/books for the kids to keep them busy when they are not being photographed. The children will find the session entertaining and fun as we do our best to keep them engaged in the process and enjoying it. This often includes singing their favourite songs if they like music. For newborns the room is kept between 24-29 degrees so that they are warm and comfortable. Depending on the session you have chosen the time taken will be anywhere from 1-3 hours (3 hours is only for newborn signature sessions).

Purchasing Appointment

The purchasing appointment happens 30mins after the session which saves you having to come back another day. This is especially helpful for those who have taken time off work to come to the session. Please make sure all decision makers are at the session so they can help decide which photos to purchase. Amy will do a basic edit in 30mins while you sit down and have a tea or coffee, or go for a walk to the local park or bakery. All purchased images will have a full edit before you receive them. The purchasing appointment is a relaxing time where you can see the beautiful images of your loved ones and have help in choosing the best images and the best way to present those to suit your house and style. We have many beautiful products to choose from including albums, frames and canvas. And of course whatever you order in print comes with the matching digital file so you can share online.

Product Collection

Any digital files that you have ordered will be delivered via an emailed link one week after your viewing appointment. Products such as canvas and frames must be collected from our studio as we want to know that you are receiving the goods in perfect condition. These will be ready for collection 4-6 weeks after your viewing appointment depending on the product you order (albums tend to take 6 weeks). You will be notified via email as soon as everything is ready to collect.
