Evander and Kainan (Evan and Kain for short) came to visit me when they were 13 days new.  I was so impressed with their mum for getting out of the house with the twins being so young, as this was not her first babies, these were in fact number 4 and 5, so she no doubt has a very busy life.

Evan and Kain’s parents ordered large canvases of the photo above and below.  They look seriously stunning – kind of wish I could have kept them 🙂  Perhaps I will have to order myself some more samples.

I love how Kain is awake and chatting away while Evan sleeps so soundly 🙂

Lily came to see me at 10 days new, she is the youngest of four kids so will be much loved 🙂  I loved Lily’s little features, she’s so delicate and pretty.  And her big sister Bella joined us for the whole session and was so sweet and well behaved.

Alby was 8 days new when he came to visit me.  He was such an easy baby to photograph.

Ward was 16 days new when she came to visit me, she was a little wakeful but I still managed to get some beautiful sleepy shots as well as some lovely eye open shots.  Isn’t she a beauty?

As you may know, I run mentoring sessions for newborn photographers teaching them the skills of posing and working with newborns.  This one was with Megan Holmes from Child’s Journey Photography in Wanganui.  It’s such an honour to be able to pass on what I know about photographing newborns.

For this mentoring session we had two girls, both were quite feisty, but I managed to settle them and get some gorgeous sleepy shots, and it showed Megan how to deal with more difficult babies which is actually what she really wanted, so it worked out perfectly.

First up was Chloe and her protective big brothers.

Second we had Isabella, a sweet wee thing, but also feisty 🙂
